The last few days have been very good to the Washington Capitals. On the 18th of April, the Caps donated more than $30,000 to the Washington Animal Rescue League. This money was raised from the Canine Calendars that were sold at every Capitals home game. The $31,320 will provide the canines shelter, food and care and help the organization to complete its goal: to “rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals that have nowhere else to go.”
Also, on April 25th the Washington Capitals defeated the Boston Bruins in a overtime thriller. Joel Ward, who received a bit of negative attention from Boston, scored the game winning goal in dramatic fashion.
